In order to make the law and order situation in Gujarat more sophisticated, the government has made intensive plans to increase the number of police personnel and the number of police stations. In the last seven years,a more than 49,000 police personnel have been recruited in Gujarat. Another 13,000 personnel will be recruited next year. The state government is also providing facilities including training to equip police personnel with modern technology. Minister of State for Home Pradeep Singh Jadeja said this in a meeting of the Advisory Committee held in Gandhinagar today.
Gujaratis brought back from abroad
He said the traditional image of police has been differentiated as a result of the work done by police personnel to enforce lockdown even at the worst of times to prevent corona infection during the lockout. During this period of lockdown, the NRG department has also taken steps to bring back more than 55,000 Gujaratis living abroad under the Vanda Bharat Mission with the help of the central government. Similarly, the state government has taken steps to return lakhs of inter-state workers to their mothers.

Convention Improvement Project is also underway
He said that the Convention Improvement Project is also underway to increase the rate of punishment in the state. It is planned to the provide guidance for 24-hour investigation. Provision has been made to appoint a retired police officer as a motivational officer. Under this project, separate rooms for investigation, call centers, coordination of Raksha Shakti University for FIR draft, training facilities for police personnel and services of FSL will be availed more widely.
