A 20 minute treatment can cure memory loss
Memory loss can be cured in just 20 minutes with proper treatment. Scientists say the experimental treatment is also non-invasive.
Boston University researchers published the results of their study last week in Nature Neuroscience. It talked about new treatments that help people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
The treatment relies on a wearable cap equipped with electrodes. It sends an electrical signals to the brain, and scientists say it can improve a memory function.

A growing aging population leads to personal, social, healthcare and economic costs. A major contributing factor to these costs is impairment in basic memory systems needed for activities of daily living, such as making financial decisions or understanding language, study lead author Robert Reinhart said in a press release Monday.
Study participants received an electrical brain stimulation for 20 minutes for 4 consecutive days. Patients were also asked to memorize 20 words and recite them immediately afterwards. Three to four days after the low electrical signal was applied, patients' short-term memory was better, and the better effects could be seen after a month.
Treatment is non-invasive
The high frequency signal was able to improve long-term memory two days later and one month later. After treatment, people with low cognitive function had improved memory.
"Clinically, this is an important because there are people who only have short-term memory worry and others who only have long-term memory problems. So, having tools at hand that can address each of these memory systems is very valuable," Reinhardt said so.
With effects lasting up to a month, this treatment can be beneficial for many people with memory-related ailments.
