Inauguration of the Craftroots Exhibition at the Science Centre
The 'Crafts Route Exhibition' of items made by various handicrafts and artisans from more than 22 states of India has been inaugurated by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel. An exhibition has been organized in Surat to coincide with the festival of Navratri.
PM Modi paid a lot of attention to this product and artisans
On this occasion, he said that the Craftroot Exhibition has started today at the Science Center of Surat. Earlier, no one paid any attention to these artisans-artists, the artisans used to work by themselves sitting in their homes and if they joined an organization, that organization would come and buy the product. Such a system was in place in Gujarat and across the country. But ever since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, he has given a lot of attention to this product and the artisans.
A small product made in a village is sold at the world level: Anandiben Patel
He said that the fashion changed but the artists did not adopt the fashion and continued to work with the old method, so the products of these artisans were not sold to the people. Earlier, raw materials had to be procured from other states and other countries to make this product. But now these goods are available at doorstep. A small product made in the village is sold at the world level. Government of India is providing a very good platform in this regard. Anandiben Patel said, I have heard that many artisans have joined their new generation, who have studied from abroad, in this business as well.
On this occasion, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh appealed to the people of Surat and said that this is our pride, our self-respect, our heritage. It is up to all of us to pass this on from one generation to the next. It is also our job to keep them going. It is also our job to take his family forward.
