Export demand for polished diamonds up in Surat, up 21.99% over last year
Compared to last year, this year Surat has recorded an increase in exports of products including prepared diamonds, cut and polished diamonds, jewelry including lab-grown prepared diamonds and diamond studded jewelry.
In Surat, there has been an increase of 21.99 percent in the export of finished diamonds (cut and polished diamonds) in the year 2022 compared to the month of September 2021. In the month of September 2021, 14 thousand crores were exported, while in this year 2022, ready diamonds worth 17 thousand crores have been exported. Exports of items including prepared diamonds, lab-grown prepared diamonds, jewelery and diamond studded jewelery are also increasing compared to last year. Let us tell you that from April to September of the year 2021, cut and polished diamonds worth 4350 crores were exported, while in the year 2022, cut and polished diamonds worth 7407 crores were exported.
23.43 percent increase in exports of studded jewellery
Compared to the month of April to September of the year 2021, the export of all types of studded jewelery has increased by 23.43 percent this year. Compared to April to September of the year 2021, exports have increased by 4.71 percent. In which 91495 cut and polished diamonds were exported last September. While during the year 2022, 95805 crores have been exported.
24.88 percent increase in total gold jewelery exports in 2022
In addition, there has been an increase of 24.88 percent in the total export of gold jewelery in the year 2022 compared to the month of April to September of the year 2021. In the month of April to September of the year 2021, a total of gold jewelery worth 31181 crore was exported, while in the year 2022, a total of gold jewelery worth 38939 crore was exported.
70.26% jump in export of Labgreen
Let us further tell you here that there is an increase in the export of natural diamonds but also a continuous increase in the export of Labgrown diamonds. Labgrown cut and polished diamond exports have increased by 70.26 percent in the year 2022 compared to April to September 2021.
