By worshiping Sun God in this month, human being attains salvation.

Significance of Paush Poornima 2023

The occasion of Poshi Poonam is also dedicated to the cause of brother and sister.

Today, the sister fasts and observes Poonam Vrat and in the evening worships the moon and wishes the brother a long and happy life and completes the Vrat by seeing the face of the brother.

On the day of Poshi Poonam, the sister fasts the whole day for the well-being of her brother, and at night she keeps a round bhakhri or millet bread with holes in front of her eyes in front of the moon in the sky and looks at the moon and asks her brother 3 times,

"Poshi Poshi Poonmadin,

Agashi cooked food,

Shall the brother's sister play or play?"

If brother asks to eat, sister eats and if she asks to play, sister has to play all night.

However, for some time the brother says to play a joke, so there is a sweet quarrel between the two brothers and sisters.

At that time, the elder of the house laughed and said, "To play with the sister, even the brother has to stay up all night".

Today all these traditions are declining.

However, the importance of Poshi Poonam was and remains.
