Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India YASASVI ENTRANCE TEST-2023



The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established by Ministry of Education, as an independent/autonomous, self-reliant and self-sustained premier testing organization.


The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India has formulated a scheme known as PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI) for award of scholarships to eligible candidates belonging to Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and De-Notified, Nomadic & Semi Nomadic Tribes(DNT/S-NT) categories, (the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs) studying in Class IX and Class XI in identified Top Schools across India.



Selection of candidates for the award of scholarships under the scheme is through a written test called YASASVI ENTRANCE TEST, and the NTA has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the same.


The NTA will be conducting the YASASVI ENTRANCE TEST-2023 as per details given below.


Purpose: Exam for selection of candidates belonging to OBC, EBC and DNT categories, studying in Class IX and Class XI for award of scholarship for studying in Top Schools identified by the MSJ&E.

Mode of conducting the Exam: Pen and Paper mode (OMR based)

Pattern of the Exam: Objective Type comprising 100 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs)

Duration: 2½ hours (150 minutes)

Medium: English and Hindi

Date of exam: 29.09.2023 (Friday)

Exam fee: Candidates are not required to pay any exam fee.

  • Submission of online application forms for the test: From 11.07.2023 to 10.08.2023 (Upto 11.50 p.m.)

FAQ:

What is Yasasvi Entrance Test (YET) for?
  • Ans: YASASVI ENTRANCE TEST (YET) is for selection of eligible candidates for award of scholarship to candidates studying in Class IX and Class XI in identified Schools under the YASASVI Scheme.


What is the type of the test?
  • Ans: The test is an Objective type test comprising Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will have 4 possible answer options. Candidate will be required to mark any one of the options that he/she considers as the correct or the most appropriate answer.


What is the mode of conducting the test?
  • Ans: The test will be conducted in Paper Pen Mode (OMR). The test comprises Multiple Choice questions.


Who are all eligible to apply?
  • Ans: Applicants should be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate should belong to OBC or EBC or DNT category.
  • Candidate applying for Class 9 should be born between 01-04- 2007 to 31-03-2011 (both days inclusive).
  • Candidate applying for Class 11 should be born between 01- 04-2005 to 31-03-2009 (both days inclusive).
  • Income of the parents or guardian of the applicant should not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum.
  • Should be studying in Class IX or Class XI in the Identified Schools.
  • Should have passed Class VIII or Class X during the academic year 2022-23.

Will the exam for Class IX and held in the Class XI be same session and same time?
  • Ans: Yes. Exam for both Class IX and Class XI will be held in the same session and same date. Candidates will have to ensure that they answer the question paper meant for them, as indicated on their Admit Card.
