Modi government bring new scheme of employment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) launched the Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan) to create permanent infrastructure and increase employment opportunities in the villages of the country. This campaign will be run in mission mode to help migrant workers for 125 days in 116 districts of 6 states. For this, the central government has made a provision of 50 thousand crores. These laborers will get work under MNREGA. Modi said that the poor welfare employment campaign starting from Khagaria today is a very important tool to fulfill this feeling, this need.

In order to provide employment in rural India, PM Modi will start it from Khagaria in Bihar on Saturday 20 June. PM will launch this campaign through video conferencing in Delhi. Under the poor welfare employment campaign lasting 125 days, villages in 116 districts of the country returned to at least 25000 migrant laborers in each district will be given employment. Under this, now 25 kinds of infrastructure-related works will be given in the village itself, for which a budget of Rs 50 thousand crores has been allocated.



The states that will benefit from this scheme include Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Maximum of 32 districts of Bihar have been added to this scheme. The government claims that the skill mapping of laborers has been done.


Under the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan, public works worth Rs 50 thousand crores will be done. To help the migrant workers, in 125 districts of 6 states, a 125-day campaign will be undertaken at the mission mode level. A target has been set to provide work to at least 25,000 migrant workers in these districts.
Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan will be started from the Telihar village of Beldaur block of Khagaria district of Bihar.


The Prime Minister will inaugurate this campaign of video conference at 11 o'clock today. 116 districts of 6 states have been included in this campaign. Under the campaign, laborers returned home will be provided employment through 25 kinds of development works worth Rs. 50 thousand crores.


This campaign to provide employment to workers near their village has been named as 'Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan'. In this, the workers will get work in 25 government schemes according to their skill. These schemes are being implemented in 116 districts in 6 states of the country.
Why the plan as needed


The Coronavirus caused a nationwide lockdown. Due to this, all the industries in big cities were closed. As a result, the migrant laborers returned to their villages on a large scale. Now the Center has prepared a scheme to provide employment to migrant laborers in their district itself in collaboration with the state governments. It has been named 'Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan'.

20 lakh crore share of the economic package


To make the villages self-reliant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan from Khagaria, Bihar on June 20, PM will be involved in this program virtually. It is part of the 20 lakh crore economic package announced by the central government. On the occasion of the launch of this scheme, PM Modi will be joined by video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of 6 states and ministers of the Ministry of Relations. The campaign will start from the Telihar village of Beldaur block in Khagaria district of Bihar.


Around 25 work areas have been identified for employment in villages, for development works. These 25 works or projects are such that are connected with the basic facilities of the village, which are to improve the lives of the people of the village. These works will be done while staying in their own village, while staying with their family.




2. Workers will get work under MNREGA. Its daily wages have recently been increased from Rs 182 to Rs 202. That means in 125 days they will earn Rs 25,250.


3. This campaign is integrated of 12 different Ministries / Departments - Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Road Transport and Highways, Mines, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Environment, 
4. Under this campaign, the government has identified 116 districts in 6 states. About 67 lakh migrant laborers have gone back to these districts. These 116 districts include 32 districts in Bihar, 31 in Uttar Pradesh, 24 in Madhya Pradesh, 22 in Rajasthan, 4 in Odisha, and 3 in Jharkhand.


5. Warehouses etc. will be constructed for the storage of agricultural produce in the village itself. If the canal of the village has broken down, it will also be repaired.


6. No one will have to apply for this scheme, the state and central governments themselves will select migrant laborers for this scheme.


7. The list of the names of the laborers who have been sent back to the village by the labor special or the state government is already with the government. Based on that list, they will be provided work.


8. The list of laborers who have migrated from a city to their village on foot or by any other means is also with the District Magistrate of the concerned district. However, such people should get their names checked.


9. Employment campaign to get wages paid, all of the state government
